DISABILITY CASE MANAGEMENT

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE - SENSITIVE HANDLING - ​COMPLETE CONFIDENTIALITY

I am a certified Occupational Health Nurse consulting on all aspects of workplace health issues. I manage a variety of physical and mental disabilities in order to facilitate safe, sustainable return to work plans. My work also includes a review and assessment of requests for workplace accommodation of physical or mental disability resulting from medical conditions.

PROFESSIONAL SCOPE OF PRACTICE:

  1. ​Chronic condition correspondence and review
  2. Complex cases (accommodations, substance use d/o, mental health)
  3. Sensitive case management for executives and/or labour relations
  4. Cases where the causation is unclear
  5. Cases that require more in-depth medical review
  6. Cases that require specialist intervention
  7. Cases that require review and consideration for IME or FCE​
  8. Review of attendance information for discerning patterns
  9. Review of limitations/restrictions for safe and sustainable RTW
  10. Cases where added experience, intuition or objectivity could help
It can make the process much smoother if the case manager operates at arms-length from the employer, to ensure that the employee's medical information remains confidential.

 The case manager has regular contact with all of the stakeholders, and uses best efforts to ensure that a timely return to work occurs.
